The Supreme Court of India directed the Central government to send trained counsellors and community leaders to handle situations in shelter homes.

The Supreme Court of India directed the Central government to send trained counsellors and community leaders to handle situations in shelter homes.According to PTI, the SC states that the trained religious and community leaders must visit the migrant shelters across the country and talk with the migrant people not to make panic. SC asked to prevent the migration of people due to coronavirus and to set up a web portal for providing real-time information about the COVID-19 pandemic to avoid the spreading of fake news. Moreover, the migrant shelters should be run by volunteers without the use of force or intimidation by taking care of all the needs of people such as food, nourishment, and pharmaceutical aid.

The Times of India also reported that the SC suggested to Solicitor general (SG) to engage in community leaders to prevent panic and calm those in the shelter homes. The SC also said that it would pass a detailed order for ensuring the food, shelter, and medical aid for the migrant labourers, who couldn't reach their native places because of lockdown.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
