On July 12, 2020, Indian protesters, along with Iranians and Pakistanis, protested against the expansionist policies of China, outside the Chinese embassy in London. The protesters were seen holding placards which read 'expansionists, back off China.' They demanded China to stop exploiting resources in Gilgit-Baltistan. Dr. Amjad Ayub Mirza, who hails from Mirpur in Pakistan, said they are a victim of Chinese aggression as China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passes through Gilgit Baltistan, with over 6,000 Chinese army and engineers are present in Pakistan occupied Kashmir to expand the CPEC project. Arif Aajakia, a human rights activist, tweeted a video that shows protesters singing Vande Mataram, India's national song.
