As the government announced the relaxations in the lockdown at the start of June 2020, Mumbai residents flocked at Marine Drive for morning walks.On June 1, 2020, the Government of India announced the first phase of unlocking the nationwide lockdown from June 7. The Maharashtra government under few relaxations allowed individual physical exercises such as cycling, jogging, running, walking on public open spaces, including beaches, gardens, and promenades. Following this, the citizens of Mumbai flocked the Marine Drive in large numbers for walking and jogging. The government later limited relaxation from morning 5 am to 7 pm.
