Maharashtra Government Excise department on 11 May 2020, issued an order on allowing home delivery of liquor with certain guidelines and precautions.

In response to the state excise decision, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) issued an order on 22 May 2020, which allowed the home delivery of liquor in Mumbai, except in containment zones. The order added that the e-commerce platforms may be utilised by the liquor shops to provide for home delivery.
