Sonia Gandhi's statement was taken out of context and misinterpreted. She was referring to one of Rajiv Gandhi's most significant works.
In the letter, Gandhi urged the PM to provide free education to Navodaya Vidyalaya students who have lost their parents to COVID-19. The INC also shared the letter on its official Twitter account.
It further read, "one of my husband Rajiv Gandhi's most significant legacies is the network of Navodaya Vidyalayas." "It was his dream to make high-quality modern education accessible and affordable to talented youth, predominantly from rural areas."
However, the social media users picked the above sentence and misinterpreted it. Gandhi got trolled on social media for referring to Rajiv Gandhi as one of her husbands.
However, Sonia Gandhi never meant that Rajiv Gandhi was one of her husbands. She was talking about "one of" Rajiv Gandhi's most significant legacies. Hence, we mark the claim as misleading.
