Indian Tourism Ministry is planning to introduce COVID-19 insurance policy for foreign tourists visiting India.Indian tourism ministry's additional director general, Rupinder Brar, said that the government is currently analyzing insurance policies introduced by Singapore and other countries related to COVID-19. He also added that talks are on with insurers and the finance ministry on providing COVID cover to foreigners traveling to India.

The plan is to restart foreign tourism to the country while keeping it safe in 2021. The Ministry aims to seek cooperation between Indian and international insurance companies to make sure that insurance policies would cover the COVID-19 treatment. The tourists will be connected to hospitals across the country.
