Unfortunately, it’s not possible to objectively verify this claim, because it is the opinion of a Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), U.T. Khader. The May 2018 assembly election of Karnataka ended with an inconclusive verdict. While the Bhartiya Janata Party won 104 seats, it was short of a simple majority by nine seats. The Congress with 78 seats and JD(S) with 37 seats decided to form an alliance and formed a coalition government. U.T. Khader (Cabinet Minister for Urban Development and Housing) attended the Congress party meeting on May 29 and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had been trying to topple the government for the past year, but it had not worked, and thus would have to wait for four more years. This statement cannot be verified because it is an opinion of a political leader.
