News released by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation confirms that Bharat Biotec is still in the process of developing COVID-19 vaccine.The release issued by the Foundation stated that Bharat Biotech and the US-based FluGen along with virologists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have started developing a vaccine for COVID-19, called CoroFlu build on the backbone of FluGen’s flu vaccine candidate known as M2SR. It said the Refinement and testing in laboratory animal models at UW–Madison is expected to take three to six months. Further, it said CoroFlu could be in human clinical trials by the fall of 2020. Thus, it is evident the vaccine is still in the developing stage and has not been sent for trials.
