The press release by the Ministry of Home Affairs confirms that the COVID-19 lockdown had been extended for a further period of 2 weeks.According to the release dated 1 May 2020, the Government of India issued an order to extend the lockdown measures to contain the spread of coronavirus under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. It said based on a comprehensive review they have extended the lockdown for a further period of 2 weeks beyond 4 May 2020. MHA also issued new guidelines to all the states to be implemented strictly.
