This claim cannot be objectively verified as the investigation is ongoing and there is no proof communal violence in the reports currently available.Gapphar Ahmad, a 52-year-old Muslim auto driver, lodged a complaint at the Sikar Sadar police station in Rajasthan. He said in his complaint that he was stopped by miscreants who arrived in a pick-up vehicle. They asked for tobacco to which he said no. The duo then allegedly assaulted him and forced him to chant Jai Shri Ram and Modi Zindabad. Times of India quoted the police officer saying that the miscreants asked him to say ‘Zindabad Modi’, and when he refused, they beat him. However, the same police officer is heard saying that the auto driver was beaten, after a verbal quarrel.
Based on the available evidence, we cannot say if there is a communal angle attached to the incident and the investigation is still ongoing.
