The government released a $12.1 billion package which is worth 4% of GDP compared to the global financial crisis. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the government would take strong steps to protect the health of the New Zealanders and their economy. She also said the government had invested half a billion dollars for getting the virus under control and it would be the best protection of their economy.
