The Kuwaiti government has denied that there was a prince by the name of Abdullah Al-Sabah in the Kuwaiti royal family. In 2012, an audio file was released by a Middle Eastern media outlet alleging that a Kuwaiti prince, Abdullah Al Sabah, converted to Christianity. The audio's voice was attributed to the prince by the media outlet where he allegedly said that he had converted to Christianity. The Al-Sabah is Kuwait's royal family. However, no independent media organization has been able to verify the audio and establish whether the voice is of the price or not.

Moreover, the Kuwaiti government has denied a prince's existence by the name of Abdullah Al-Sabah in the Kuwaiti royal family and termed the released audio as a fraud. An article from a journalist, Marco Tosatti of the Vatican Insider, had also disclosed that the name Abdullah does not appear on the list of the 15 members of the royal family who rule the country.
