IMD forecasted that a new low-pressure area is likely to surface over the North Bay of Bengal, which enhanced the rainfall activity in Coastal parts.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted that a fresh low-pressure area could form over northwest Bay of Bengal, and its presence will lead to the intensification of wet conditions over eastern and adjoining central Indian states around August 23, 2020. The IMD Amaravati Centre director S Stella said that the low pressure would be formed over northwest Bay of Bengal, and its neighborhood and thunderstorm and lightening will be observed over isolated places. The system has also traced a well-marked low pressure over central parts of east Madhya Pradesh, and neighborhood with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
