Biden took to the stage and said in a prime-time victory speech that he will try to heal the differences and unify the country. The winner of the election will be declared after the Congress will meet to count the states’ electoral votes in January 2021. Many states are still to certify the results. Biden will take the oath as the next U.S. president on 20 January 2020. Biden won more votes than any Presidential candidate in American history, shattering Barack Obama’s record, reported Time.
Meanwhile, Trump's campaign has filed several legal challenges that remain pending in the courts as Trump accused large-scale rigging echoed by his supporters. There is no evidence yet of any widespread voter fraud and experts have expressed doubts about whether the case will stand in the court of law.
