White House aides are concerned over the ethical implications of Meena Harris' alleged business practices.

White House officials have expressed concern about Meena Harris' business dealings as it includes Vice President Kamala Harris's name in it.

White House officials have expressed concern about Meena Harris' business dealings as it includes Vice President Kamala Harris's name in it.Reports show that White House officials believe Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece Meena Harris who owns a clothing line called Phenomenal, uses her aunt's name in carrying out her businesses. Meena's business ventures include Kamala Harris's name and her likings on the clothing pieces and books written in her name. Kamala’s image is intertwined with Meena's business projects, and it poses an ethical question. Meena has also used Kamala's name and political slogans in the promotional activities of her brand.

Though Meena has said she would uphold the legal and ethical standards, Biden officials are not fully convinced about her following the spirit of the rules, according to a report by Politico. It said that soon after Kamala was chosen as Biden's deputy, Meena had pushed the Biden team to sell a shirt in the campaign store that she designed, which had a picture of a young Kamala. Meena’s company had produced a video with the Supermajority Education Fund and traveled to the inauguration ceremony on a Biden donor's private plane, which raised some doubts.

White House Officials and aides feel that Meena's activism can bring unwanted scrutiny on Kamala and have asked Meena to stop using her aunt's name and told her that she could no longer produce clothing or write new books with her aunt’s name or likeness.

Further, Sabrina Singh, a spokesperson for the vice president, has said in a statement that the Vice President's name should not be used in connection with any commercial activities that could reasonably be understood to imply an endorsement or support.
