There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim.News reports from the early 2000 state that according to a book written by Dhiren Bhagat named The Contemporary Conservative, Mani Shankar Aiyar was an aspiring candidate for the IFS (Indian Foreign Service) and was not into politics during the Indo-China war in 1962. He was an active member of the Marxist Society in Cambridge, he joined student politics and even tried to win a presidential contest with the help of Rajiv Gandhi. In 1962 when India-China war broke out, Mani Shankar Aiyar was said to have collected huge amounts of funds for the Chinese army through his Marxist networks. However, due to the lack of any other credible sources, it cannot be objectively verified.
