The article by ANI News and Pune Mirror had reported that Amrutanjan bridge between Mumbai and Pune was demolished amid Covid-19 lockdown. The video documented and published by ANI News had explained that a 189-year-old British-era Amrutanjan Bridge located near Lonavala, at Pune-Mumbai expressway, was demolished on 5 April 2020. The authorities had stated that they did not find any difficulty in destroying the bridge as no traffic was observed near the area due to COVID-19 lockdown.

The Pune Mirror cited PTI had explained that the Raigad district collector had permitted to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to carry out the demolition work between 4 to 14 April, because the Amrutanjan Bridge has been shut for the past several years, as it was in a dilapidated condition.
