There is insufficient evidence to confirm whether TikTok would start its operation in India.

There is insufficient evidence to confirm whether TikTok would start its operation in India. The government of India had banned TikTok and other 58 Chinese based apps after a flare-up in diplomatic ties between the two countries. As per the government, the decision against these apps was taken due to security and privacy reasons.

Few news reports stated that TikTok might be in a plan to take legal options against its ban in India. Later, a TikTok spokesperson denied those reports and said that the company is committed to works with the government by addressing the concerns and ensuring the data sovereignty, security, and privacy of the users. Currently, it is not possible to confirm if the ban on TikTok would be lifted.
