Arnab Goswami has been summoned in connection with a first information report, filed by Irfan Abubakar Shaikh, for allegedly creating communal hatred.Irfan Abubakar Shaikh, secretary of the Raza Education Welfare Society, filed a First Information Report(FIR) against Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami. The FIR alleges that Arnab Goswami incited hatred against the Muslim community on his April 29 show. Goswami has been accused of targeting a Bandra-based mosque with respect to a protest staged by migrant workers near Bandra station on April 15. The laborers had gathered after receiving fake news that the government was running trains to transport them back to their home states. According to Shaikh, the mosque was not linked to the protests in any way. Goswami had made provocative statements against the community and highlighted the mosque to create communal disturbances, he alleged.

Arnab will appear before the Mumbai Police on June 10 for interrogation.
