The Daily Mail, citing an article by The Times, states that the Wimbledon organisers had been preparing to submit an insurance claim of over £100million for cancellation of the tennis tournament. Additionally, the article states that the All England Club’s Risk and Finance Sub-Committee has insisted on the coverage of epidemics in the insurance policies since the 2003 SARS outbreak and the policy has been upgraded accordingly.

As per The Guardian article, outgoing chief executive of Wimbledon Richard Lewis has said that the organisers would receive an insurance payout and that its details would not be known for months.
