The state has now witnessed a total of 282,365 COVID-19 cases. Additionally, an article by the Texas Tribune confirmed that Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has stated during a press conference that if people keep disregarding his new statewide mask mandate, the next step could be another economic lockdown. Abbott also remarked that the worst is yet to come for his state as the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 is increasing.
