There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim.Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan had invested 425 kg of gold in the National Defence Gold Scheme in October 1965, with an interest rate of 6.5 percent. The 1965 National Defence Gold Bonds had the additional benefit: provisions of the gold control or customs regulations not applying to gold in any form tendered as a subscription to the gold bonds. No proceedings were instituted, not liable to any income tax.

However, there are no credible or official sources to prove whether the Nizam donated 5000 kg of gold during the Indo-China war.
