Pakistan's government has imposed financial sanctions on terror groups and their leaders, including Dawood Ibrahim. This confirms that he is alive. On June 5, 2020, some unnamed Intelligence Agencies had reported that India's most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and his wife had tested positive for COVID-19 and were being in Army hospital, Karachi. But Ibrahim's brother Anees Ibrahim had denied such reports. There were also reports that Dawood Ibrahim had succumbed due to COVID-19. His guards and personal staff were also quarantined as per the reports.

However, the latest reports by the Pakistani government banning financial sanctions on the terror groups and their leaders, including Dawood Ibrahim and freezing their bank accounts and seizure of their properties, confirm that he is living in Karachi. Thus, we can confirm that Dawood Ibrahim is very much alive and has not died as a result of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
