LPG prices in India have gone up by Rs. 225 since Jan 2021.

The price of domestic LPG has increased ₹225 within four months.

The price of domestic LPG has increased ₹225 within four months. The price of LPG has been hiked due to an increase in crude oil prices in the international market. Last year the government increased the taxes on fuel as the coronavirus pandemic caused significant damage to the Indian economy.

The price of domestic cylinders was increased by ₹100 each in December by the oil marketing companies. It remained unchanged in January but was revised 4 times in February. The current LPG cooking gas price in Delhi is ₹819 and almost the same in other metros. The latest revision translates the price into a ₹225 hike in the cooking gas price in just four months. This comes on the heel of a sharp rise in petrol and diesel prices, which have touched record highs in the country.
