Rahul Gandhi congratulated the Kerala Mahila Congress leader for tonsuring her head upon being denied a ticket to contest the upcoming elections.

Rahul Gandhi did not praise the Mahila Congress leader in Kerala for tonsuring her head.

Rahul Gandhi did not praise the Mahila Congress leader in Kerala for tonsuring her head. Mahila Congress President in Kerala, Lathika Subhash, resigned from her post after being denied a seat from the Ettumannur constituency ahead of the assembly polls. She also shaved her head, sitting in the party office's front courtyard as a mark of protest.

In the meantime, a post was shared on social media claiming that Rahul Gandhi congratulated Lathika Subhash for tonsuring her head as a mark of pledge to Lord Murugan.

However, we did not find any such tweet posted by Rahul Gandhi on his Twitter timeline. Facebook has also flagged posts sharing Rahul Gandhi's purported tweet congratulating Lathika Subhash as 'false information.' Further, we noticed that the viral post's image has straight edges, and the alignment is improper. Normally the corners of the images will be rounded in the original tweets. These visual discrepancies clearly show that the image has been manipulated and that the claims of Rahul Gandhi congratulating Mrs. Lathika Subhash for tonsuring her head are false.
