An independent evaluation by scientific experts has found Roche’s serology test as highly specific and 100 per cent accurate in detecting COVID-19.Public Health England has announced that a new COVID-19 antibody test by Swiss pharmaceutical company, Roche is 100 per cent accurate. The Food and Drug Administration in America has already issued emergency use approval for the antibody test which is called Elecsys Anti -SARS-CoV-2. Further, Roche announced that they are in discussion with both the National Health Service and the United Kingdom government about the phased roll-out of antibody test kits as soon as possible.

The news articles stated that the tests carried out by Public Health England at Porton Down, the laboratory which provides sensitive and specialist scientific services to the government, concluded that the Roche test detected the exact antibodies prompted by the virus. The test has been received Conformité Européenne, or CE mark, from the European Union on 28 April and has received Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
