SLPRB canceled the Police SI recruitment exam in Assam after they found that there was a leak of question paper on social media.On September 20, the SLPRB (State Level Police Recruitment Board) canceled the written test of the Police Sub-Inspector recruitment exam. It was declared a few minutes before the exam after it started to follow the leakage of the question paper on social media. It released an official notice on its website and an FIR was filed with CID, Assam, to investigate and take legal action against the culprits.

As per the reports, a total of 13 people were accused on charges of being involved in the question paper leak. Three persons, including a woman employee of the state government, have been arrested and five others, one from the Special Task Force (STF), have been detained.

Pradeep Kumar has resigned as the State Level Police Recruitment Board chief taking moral responsibility for the question paper leak case which resulted in the cancellation of the written test. Over 66,000 candidates had appeared in 154 centers in all the 33 districts for the written test for 597 posts of unarmed sub-inspectors in Assam Police.
