The official Global Times accounts have only reported 4 casualties on the Chinese side in the Galwan clash with India.
Simultaneously, a WhatsApp message was widely forwarded quoting a report from the state-run news outlet Global Times which said that 30 PLA soldiers were killed in the fierce clash with the Indian Army. An Indian news channel by the name of Times Now aired the news with the names of 30 dead soldiers. The news anchor, however, said that the message could be fake forward. On searching, we did not find any such report from the Global Times except a tweet by its Editor-in-chief, who hinted that the Chinese side too suffered casualties but won't reveal the exact numbers to avoid stoking public mood.
Very recently, the Global Times reported with a heading, "China unveils details of 4 PLA martyrs at the Galwan Valley border clash for the first time, reaffirming that responsibility falls on India." Thus it is clear that the message content in the viral post is fake.
