Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat thrashed a government official with her slippers during a visit to the Balsamand Mandi in Hisar.

Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat thrashed a government official with her slippers during a visit to the Balsamand Mandi in Hisar.A video of Sonali Phogat in which she was hitting the Hisar Market Committee secretary Sultan Singh using her slippers had gone viral in TikTok. The incident happened during Phogat's visit to Balsamand Mandi in Hisar on 5 June 2020. According to Phogat, she visited the Mandi along with farmers to meet Sultan Singh to inspect the arrangements of the procurement process. Phogat told the media that she thrashed because of the market committee official made derogatory remarks against her. Hisar Superintendent of Police Ganga Ram Punia stated that they received a complaint from Sultan Singh regarding the incident and said that they would take appropriate actions against Phogat.
