An old video clip of Badruddin Ajmal’s election speech has been edited to mislead the viewers and stir religious controversy.
However, we found that the viral video is an edited version of Ajmal’s speech made at Assam’s Barpeta district during the general elections of 2019. The doctored video has been made by clipping parts and merging segments of the original 15-minute long video.
In the original speech, Ajmal could be heard saying that Mughal Emperors had ruled the country for 800 years and did not dare to change the country to an Ismalic nation, and if they wanted to, they could have easily done it; there would have been no Hindu left in the state, and the whole nation would be filled with Muslims.
Furthermore, Badruddin Ajmal also clarified that his original speech had been edited to convey a wrong message. Hence we mark the claim as False.
