In Surat, the Anti-Corruption Bureau booked Congress Municipal Councilor on August 13, 2020, for allegedly taking a bribe of ₹15,000. The Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) booked Satish Patel, a councilor of Bhestan area and his aide Abhi Ejwa. Patel is on the run while ACB caught his aide Ejwa. ACB caught Ejwa for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant. Officials are in search of Patel, who was not found at his home when searched by police.

The ACB explained that a friend of the complainant was constructing a house. He was asked by both of them to pay a bribe or face demolition of the house. Both of them initially demanded ₹20,000, but after a bargain, it came down to ₹15,000.
