Most Haldiram products are deemed as unfit for human consumption by the U.S. FDA. The data tabled in the official FDA website says that Indian snacks have been found to contain high levels of pesticides, mold, and bacteria. Most Indian snacks rejected by the FDA in 2015 were from the Nagpur-based food company Haldiram's. The report labeled Haldiram's cookies, biscuits, and wafers as dirty, putrified and that they were degraded containing a poisonous substance. Few other snack companies also are on the block list for various reasons like packaging, labeling, and contamination.
