The procession of the florists in the weeklong festival has a unique phenomenon where Hindus and Muslims together offer the floral chadar at the Dargah of Khwaja Bakhtiar Kaaki and the floral pankha(fan) is offered to the ancient temple of Devi Yogmaya in Mehrauli.
The members of Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan, which organizes the Phool Walon-ki-Sair in Delhi had presented the floral pankhas to the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal as a part of the celebrations in 2016. The pankha has become a symbol of communal harmony and national integration.
