The Chinese military has occupied Indian land in the Galwan valley.

Chinese troops have erected structures at the Galwan site on their side of Line of Control, but no intrusion has been reported.

The Indian and Chinese troops have been engaged in standoffs at several locations along the LAC since 5 May 2020. Recently both sides have held diplomatic and military talks to disengage forces along the border. But there are reports of Chinese troops building a defensive position at the Galwan clash point. They have brought back a tent-like structure as seen by satellite images, which also showed significant construction activity. But none of the sources have confirmed intrusion into the Indian side of the territory.
