A press release by the KCDC confirms that 91 patients who had recovered from COVID-19 have tested positive again in South Korea.
Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(KCDC), Jeong Eun-kyeong told that the virus may have been reactivated rather than the patients being re-infected.
The health officials have said that it was unclear what was behind the trend, with epidemiological investigations still under progress.
The Guardian adds that the World Health Organization (WHO) has been looking into reports of such patients.
