China reported no new local cases of the deadly coronavirus for a third consecutive day on 21 March but confirmed the highest yet increase in infections from abroad.

The National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China (NHC) reported as such on 21 March 2020.

The news by NHC on 21 March 2020 states that Chinese mainland reported no new local infection of COVID-19 cases for three straight days as per the latest data and it also adds that there is a daily increase in imported case of COVID-19 in the country reached a record high of 41 cases in a single day.

Further, it states that till date (21 March 2020) 269 imported cases of COVID-19 has been reported and regions outside Hubei province on the Chinese mainland have not reported any new COVID-19 cases in the past nine straight days.
