The restrictions under section 144 of CrPC are reimposed in Mumbai.

Mumbai Police have reimposed restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC over concerns of surge in COVID-19 cases.

The coronavirus cases have been increasing day by day since the pandemic started. The public in Mumbai went down in a state of panic after hearing the news of Section 144 being imposed from September 16 to 30. The order stated that Sec.144 of CrPC has only been extended, and no new restrictions have been set. It is issued as per the guidelines of the state government on August 31, which restricts the movement and gathering of people due to the rise in the number of corona patients in the state.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
