Lockdown to be extended for 14 days in Uttar Pradesh.

The lockdown in Uttar Pradesh has not extended, and only new restrictions were imposed for three days.

Uttar Pradesh government on July 10, 2020, announced that the whole state would be under 55 hours of lockdown from 10 pm on July 10, to 5 am till July 13. The essential and emergency services will remain available apart from which everything would be closed during this period.

Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh RK Tiwari clarified that these long hours of restrictions were enforced to carry out the sanitation process in the public places to curb the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. He also denied the rumors on the extension of lockdown and asserted that the lockdown would end in the morning on July 13.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
