Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said that the exams of its state universities would be canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Delhi has eight State Universities under its ambit. Mr. Sisodia, while announcing the decision to cancel the examinations, said that it was not fair to evaluate students as the classes were not completed due to the significant health risks posed by the ongoing pandemic. He said that a progressive mechanism would be devised to evaluate the students based on internal assessments and previous scores. However, he maintained that the central government would decide on examinations in the central universities of the capital city.
