India has recorded around 75,760 new cases of COVID-19, and it is the biggest rise recorded in a single day.
COVID-19 cases have been rising across the globe, with over 24,335,741 people infected by the deadly disease. The United States, Brazil, India, and Russia are some of the worst affected countries in the world. However, when it comes to the number of active cases, India stands at the 3rd spot in the global tally of COVID-19. On August 26, 2020, India recorded around 75,760, the highest number of COVID-19 cases, which pushed the nationwide count to over 3.31 million. According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases is 7,25,991, while 25,23,771 patients have been discharged. The country also recorded 1,023 fatalities in the last 24 hours, which pushed the death toll to 60,472.
