Unidentified terrorists attacked a police party in the Nowgam bypass area near Srinagar city's outskirts.

Terrorists have killed two police personnel in an attack on a police party in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam.

Two unidentified militants attacked a joint patrolling party of Jammu & Kashmir Police and Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB) in the Nowgam bypass area near Srinagar city's outskirts on August 14, 2020. Two police personnel who had been injured in the attack died after they had been taken to a nearby hospital. The two who succumbed to injuries have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad and Fayaz Ahmad. The attack also injured another police personnel in the attack.

The entire area was sealed off by security forces, and search operations are underway to identify the terrorists who attacked the policemen. After visiting the spot, Vijay Kumar, Kashmir range Inspector-general of police(IGP), said Jaish-e-Muhammad carried out the attack, and they would soon neutralize the militants involved.
