Reliance Industries has purchased a COVID-19 testing system Israeli company Breath of Health (BOH)

The system designed by BOH is said to identify COVID-19 at a success rate of over 95 percent.

The Indian multinational company Reliance Industries Limited signed a deal with Israeli company Breath of Health to distribute a COVID-19 breath testing system, according to an Economic Times. The deal is reportedly worth $15 million.

According to a Business Today report, the breath test system identifies COVID-19 at a success rate of over 95 percent. However, the preliminary results from clinical trials done with Israeli hospitals, Hadassah Medical Center, and the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer have a success rate of 98 percent.

"The tests conducted by the company provides result in less than a minute," the report quoted Arie Laor, the CEO of BOH, as saying. Further citing business portal Calcalist, the BT report said, Reliance would conduct millions of tests at the cost of USD 10 million per month.

According to ET, BOH began developing the system two years ago for the early detection of cancer, Alzheimer's, and lung disease.

On May 6, 2021, RIL sought special permission to fly an Israeli team of experts to India to train and install the system in the country, a LiveMint report said.

Hence, the claim that Reliance Industries signed a $15 million deal with Israeli company Breath of Health to purchase a COVID-19 testing system is True.
