The Central Government has confirmed that schools in India will remain closed until December 2020.

The Central government has announced that schools would remain closed until August 31, 2020.

The schools have been shut for four months since the government announced lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry of Home released Unlock 3 guidelines, which said that schools, colleges, educational, and coaching institutions will remain closed until 31 August 2020. It was done after extensive consultation with all the stakeholders. However, some states have plans to reopen the school in September. Meanwhile, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had said earlier that the schools will open depending on the pandemic situation.
