Trump created the first new branch of space armed forces in 70 years.

U.S. President Donald Trump has created the U.S. space force, a new branch of the United States military, for the first time in 72 years.

On December 21, 2019, Trump had signed the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act and officially launched the U.S. Space Force. The space force was the new military service in the country created for the first time in 72 years under the U.S. Air Force. The funding allocation of the force was confirmed when Trump signed the $738bn (£567bn) annual U.S. military budget. The president mentioned that the new force would help the country to deter aggression and control the ultimate high ground. $40m would be given as the initial funding of the launch of the Space Force for its first year.
