The government of India is monitoring our social media.

Advanced Application for Social Media Analytics (AASMA) is the tool used by Central & State Law Enforcement in India to monitor social media.

AASMA is a tool developed by the Indraprastha Institute of Information and Technology, Delhi (IIITD), and funded by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY). The government of India has officially declared it as a strategic project and is closely monitoring social media. This project was requested by the state and the federal government of India. It has various functions like advanced search to monitor and track the location, time, and language. It sends alerts to officers on email or SMS, supports other language analysis, and has a single dashboard view of all information in the system, along with many other features. According to the report published by the IIITD, more than 40 state and Central government departments had deployed the tool by April 2017, and another 75 had requested its installation.
