Saudi Arabia to end flogging as a form of punishment.

The legal document from Saudi Arabia's top court confirms that Saudi Arabia is ending flogging as a form of punishment.

The news reports said according to the court's document, The General Commission for the Saudi Supreme Court took the landmark decision to end flogging as a form of punishment. It said it is an extension of human rights reforms brought under the direct supervision of King Salman and his son Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. The flogging will be replaced by imprisonment or fines. According to the Saudigazette, Dr Muhammad Al-Jadlani, a judge and lawyer, the decision to abolish flogging came after taking into account several factors, such as impetuous use of this provision by various judges.
