Vice President Joe Biden has been in Congress for years with no major accomplishments.

Former VP Joe Biden has been instrumental in the passage of some progressive policies while also being heavily criticized for others.

Joseph R Biden Jr. is a U.S politician from Delaware who represented the state as a Senator from 1973 to 2009. In 2009 he became the Vice President of the United States under President Barack Obama. Biden is currently running for President against Republican candidate Donald Trump in November 2020. Biden defeated the socialist-leaning Democratic Party candidate during the Democratic primaries and caucuses to secure his presidential candidature from the Democratic Party. Joe Biden has presented many bills in the U.S Congress and some of them have even been signed into law. He stood for progressive ideas and has presented some crucial bills including the one which seeks immigration rights for Iraqi nationals. He has a history of supporting affordable housing for which he had received backlash from many corners. He has handed over his Senate records to the Delaware University who have chosen to keep it undisclosed until Mr. Biden retires from public life. However, referring to his time as a Senator as a failure or that there were no major accomplishments under his tenure would be wrong as he has played a major role in passing many crucial legislations in the U.S congress as mentioned in the U.S congress library.
