Obama called Edward Snowden a traitor.

Obama had said that he did not think Snowden was a patriot.

Mr Snowden, a former US intelligence contractor, has been facing espionage charges for leaking details of the surveillance programs to the media. President Trump has repeatedly called Snowden a "traitor" and spy who should be executed.

Fact-checking Obama's claims about Snowden we found that he had said during the press conference on August 9, 2013, that if Snowden had believed that he was right, he could have come to America, appeared in the court with his lawyer, and run the case. Further said that he could not pardon a person who is not able to face the court and he thought Mr Snowden was not a patriot.
