Data suggest that 1.4 million jobs have been created since Biden took office in January 2021.
According to the data released by the Labor Department, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 916,000 in March, and in February, it was revised up to 468,000, making a total of 1,384,000. Though the unemployment rate fell to 6 %, it was far below the pre-pandemic levels in February 2020. An increase in jobs indicates that the economy is growing with more disposable income in the hands of people.
As per the Economic Policy Institute, the stellar job growth rate is attributed to increased vaccination and vital provisions in the American Rescue Plan (ARP). With two million people vaccinated every day, it is expected that the labor market will reach the pre-pandemic levels soon, but full recovery will take more time.
