A Nagpur medical hospital performed a post-mortem on a living human and removed his kidney.

A video from a Mumbai hospital has been misattributed as that of a Nagpur hospital and the BMC has refuted the allegation of improper treatment.

A viral video claimed that a Nagpur hospital conducted a post-mortem on a still-alive man and removed his kidneys. After a reverse image search, we found that the video was from Dr. R. N. Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai, in which the dead patient's family members alleged that proper treatment was not given and that he died after administering an injection. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (BMC) stated that the man was brought to the hospital for treatment on July 19, 2020, around 10 p.m., where his relatives lodged the health complaint that he was bleeding from his mouth. The senior medical officers who were present at the hospital examined the patient and immediately started the treatment. The patient died around 11:15 p.m. after the x-ray scan, and the cause of death was declared as COVID -19 infection with acute pneumonia. The BMC has defended the hospital administrations and termed the allegations made by the family of the deceased as untrue. There is no mention of any kidney removal from the original video or any of the credible news stories.
